Los Angeles

The main airport in Los Angeles is LAX and you can fly direct from any major city however it can often be cheaper to purchase flights with 1 connection. If you are planning on visiting other places on the west coast, you can also fly into any of the following airports: San Francisco, San Diego, Seattle, Las Vegas, or Phoenix.

We would recommend booking flights between 6 and 3 months ahead of time. There’s no need to do this earlier as flights will be more expensive before this.

Estimated flight prices per person to Los Angeles

From London – £400 to £500 (GBP)

From Paris – 600€ to 800€ (EUR)

From Sydney – $1500 to $2000 (AUD)

Las Vegas

For those joining us in Vegas, there are very flew direct flights to Las Vegas from Europe/Australia and most airlines will offer 1 connection.

Alternatively, you can fly into Los Angeles and drive or fly to Vegas from there.

Los Angeles

Uber/Lyft or Taxi: On arrival at LAX, you can use the free shuttle called “LAX-it” to get from the terminal to the Uber/Lyft and Taxi area and order your ride. This shuttle will be found in the “inner loop” of the airport and marked clearly on pillars outside of the terminal.

At LAX, you can only request pick up directly from the terminal if you pay for a service called “Uber Black”. This usually costs 2/3 times more but can be useful if you have a lot of luggage.

Car Rental

If you have opted for a car rental, you will need to use a free shuttle from the rental car company you have chosen. These will be available outside the terminal and marked “rental car shuttles” on a purple sign on pillars. These run every 15-20 minutes.

Santa Monica is a 30 min drive from LAX. At peak times, it can take up to an hour.

Las Vegas

The best way to get to your hotel from the airport is to jump in a Taxi. There are signs in the arrival’s hall. The cost is between $20 and $30 and is fixed based on the hotel you’re travelling to. There will be no wait times as Taxis are always waiting.

Uber is often more expensive and a longer walk from the terminal but if you wish to do this, there are signs for “rideshare” in the arrival’s hall.

Los Angeles

There’s lots of options around the Santa Monica area for all budgets, we have added some recommendations. These will range between $300-$600 per night.

Casa del Mar
Shutters on the beach (Casa’s sister hotel, right next door)
Viceroy
Santa Monica Proper Hotel
The Georgian Hotel
Hilton Santa Monica
Sandbourne Santa Monica
Courtyard by Marriott Santa Monica

You can also find lots of Air BNBs in the area for all price points, with the cheapest properties starting at $150 per night. The wedding venue is right next to Santa Monica pier which is a good point of reference if you want to be nearby.

We would recommend booking accommodation as soon as it becomes available (usually 8-12 months out) as it’s a very popular destination in July and hotels can sell out early.

Las Vegas

Las Vegas has hundreds of hotels both on and off strip. Chantelle and Pierre will be staying centrally on the strip so we would recommend picking a hotel in that area. We’ve added some of our recommendations below.
